Steve Kortenkamp, Ph.D.

Associate Professor of Practice
Teaching Teams Faculty Supervisor

Dr. Kortenkamp leads the Teaching Teams program and teaches astronomy classes in the Flandrau Planetarium. In 2011 Dr. Kortenkamp received UA's College of Science Innovations in Teaching award. Kortenkamp is also a senior scientist at the Planetary Science Institute in Tucson and a prolific author of children's science books

Andrew Charles

Teaching Teams Program Coordinator

Andrew Charles is a Program Coordinator of the Teaching Teams program and a UA graduate from the Class of 2016. He holds a Bachelor's of the Arts in Linguistics and a Minor in the Spanish Language. As an instructor Andrew tries to emphathize with every single one of his students to help them feel that they truly are a worthy investment of time and an asset to their classmates. Philosphically Andrew believes that through interdisciplinary facilitation we are recreating the original ideals of the University System. His interests include language evolution, history, binging Netflix and Hulu, and collecting pens.

Stefan is currently studying psychology and works with the Anxiety Research Group here at the University of Arizona. He has taught Brazillian Jiu Jitsu since 2014 and has been with Teaching Teams since 2016. It is important for him to build relationships with his students so that he can better understand their needs.
