Teaching Teams Lead Instructor, Instructional Specialist

Edwards leads the design, teaching, and ongoing research of the program's four-course undergraduate preceptor sequence (PTYS 297A, 397A, 393, 493), which comprise the Team Leadership Experiences and Development (LEAD) undergraduate certificate. She also led the development the Team LEAD Undergraduate Preceptor Competency Framework — 39 sub-competencies across five domains (Educator Presence & Professional Identity, Relational Leadership, Facilitation Practice, Feedback & Communication, and Professional Growth & Application) — built to give undergraduate near-peer educators a shared, assessable language for what they should know, do, and value, and continues to research how the framework and sequence support student development.

Edwards holds a Master of Science in Healthcare Management (MHM) from the University of Arizona's Eller College of Management, with a concentration in Healthcare Innovation (Marketing Strategy, Quality & Reliability, and Entrepreneurship). She also completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Arizona, earning a Bachelor's in Information Science & eSociety, with a minor in Professional Development within Higher Education.

From 2013–2018, Edwards served as a national spokesperson for the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, giving her a unique and personal perspective on public speaking. Outside of academics, Edwards volunteers to teach K-12 students how to stay active through the sport of baton twirling.
