Steve Kortenkamp, Ph.D.
Dr. Kortenkamp leads the Teaching Teams program and teaches astronomy classes in the Flandrau Planetarium. Dr. Kortenkamp received UA's College of Science Innovations in Teaching award. Kortenkamp is also a senior scientist at the Planetary Science Institute in Tucson and a prolific author of children's science books. He is also currently working on a NSF project to develop new astrononmy teaching techniques for blind students.
Mrs. Edwards works alongside Dr. Kortenkamp within the Teaching Teams Program. She holds a Bachelor's in Information Science & eSociety from the University of Arizona. While studying there, she also minored in Professional Development within Higher Education. Outside of academics, Edwards volunteers to teach local K-12 students how to stay active through the sport of baton twirling.
Alicia is a Senior at the University of Arizona, studying Physiology, as well as Molecular and Cellular Biology. Her favorite part about working with the Teaching Teams Program is the ability to work one on one with our students. She loves meeting new people every semester and seeing how much they grow. In her free time, she enjoys doing makeup and hanging out at Scented Leaf on Campus.
Joaquin is a Junior here at the University of Arizona studying Physiology. He enjoys working with the Teaching Teams Program because he is able to meet new people and teach them skills to better their professional careers. You can often find Joaquin riding his scooter from class to class, so feel free to wave hi at him!
Samantha is a Junior here at the University of Arizona Eller College of Management. She is studying Finance and Business Management. Her favorite part about being an instructor with the Teaching Teams Program is being able to help students on campus with their professional skills! Samantha finds that watching her students' growth is immensely rewarding. In her free time, you can find Samantha enjoying her studies. She loves to hang out with her friends while working on assignments. Samantha says that Teaching Teams has really changed her life and she has met some of the most fantastic people.
Aivy is a Senior here at the University of Arizona. She is studying Linguistics and Creative Writing. Her favorite part about being an intern with the Teaching Teams Program is being able to work closely with the students. In her free time, she loves to walk her dog.
