Preceptor Registration and Training
Spring 2008
Preceptor Registration. Registration will run Wednesday, January 16th through Friday, February 1st in Kuiper Space Sciences 351. The office will be open for registration Monday-Friday, 10-4pm.
Preceptor Training. There are two training courses your preceptors may enroll in:
UNVR 197a: First-time Preceptor Training (3 units)
This course is for all first-time preceptors. The course is offered in 5 different sections throughout the afternoon and evenings. Available section days and times may change as needed. Course content includes critical thinking, group dynamics, listening, reading, writing, and effective oral communication. UNVR 297a: Einstein's Protégés - First-time MATH Preceptor Training (3 units)
This course is for math preceptors only. It will not be offered in Spring 2008. First time math preceptors in Spring 2008 may take UNVR 197a with consent of the Teaching Teams Program Coordinator Kerry Murray. Returning math preceptors should enroll in UNVR 397a.UNVR 297a Course Schedule

UNVR 397a: Advance Preceptor Training (3 units)
Students who have already taken a UNVR training course are then eligible to take this Educational Leadership course. There will be one section of this course offered when the students can attend and will be determined by enrollees' availability. Course content includes exlporation of leadership styles and the development of leadership and communication skills.
