About Teaching Teams


The Teaching Teams Program (TTP) began as a grassroots collaboration of faculty and staff in 1998. The goal was to transform the student experience of large lecture courses from passive learning to active learning.

Since 1998, TTP has grown from a beginning in Planetary Science to spread campus-wide. We typically train over 200 preceptors per semester to serve in 40 different courses, reaching approximately 5000 students.
